Love it. Very user friendly.

I mainly use it for streaming Hulu Plus and Amazon Prime Instant Video, but there are a couple "stations" (they're more like apps) that are great for sports-car racing (FIA races on the Dailymotion channel). I haven't figured out a way to stream F1 on it yet, though.

Most of the channels are crap, really. The ones mentioned above plus Netflix and a couple others are really the only ones worth it. There are some interesting "special interest" channels like the cooking or guitar lessons ones, though. And if you want YouTube, there's no YouTube channel (yet), but there's an interesting app called Twonky that you can install onto your phone, Kindle Fire (what I do), or whatever and "beam" YouTube videos onto the Roku.

And speaking of installing apps onto your phone for it, there's a Roku app for smartphones that makes typing stuff on the Roku much easier.

I don't think ours is a "3" but we love it.....hardly watch our Dish right now.

Primarily, Netflix and Amazon (Household Mgr is a "Prime" member), but also am logged on to some of the odd little ones too.

Of late she is doing: Bones, NYPD Blue, Walking Dead, Wire In The Blood, etc

Me: Foyles War, CSI:NY, Adam 12, Emergency, Inspector Morse, a bunch of the Ken Burns PBS miniseries. Plus old fave movies: In Harms Way, The Blue Max, Logans Run, Forbidden Planet, Destination Moon, The Sand Pebbles just to name a few.

I'll trade Bones for One Adam-12, and take the entire list of your favorites. By the way, you can get the entire series of Foyle's War in one cover pretty cheap, and its well worth it. We're watching it for the third time right now.

You can get Rockfish on Hulu Plus also Harry.
The unit has a USB port on the side, watched Speed Merchants on Sunday that was loaded on an external hard drive. There is a USAC channel in there somewhere too, but you have to subscribe through USAC.

Brion.

Sorry, Sarge, that's Mr Palfrey of Westminster that is one cover. Foyle's War is huge.

We've had our Roku for two years now and Apple TV for a little longer. The Roku gets more use mainly because it has Amazon Prime and Plex on it along with Netflix and Hulu Plus. Plex lets us watch ripped movies stored on our home server. The Roku remote died within the warranty and they replaced it no problems. Like Jenny said most of the channels are crap and no Youtube. We cut the cord a year ago and haven't looked back.

Just picked it (ROKU3) up.

Great device. The load times for NETFLIX are so fast...compared to my older blueray player/streamer.

Since I had a network cable in place for the old one, I went wired, but will likely grab the older 2 model for the bedroom, it's wireless as well.

Thanks for all the advice. This little gizmo works, and works well for what we wanted.

Rockford Files tonite? I think so.
