Very Cool that you still have the car! What make is the body? GT models or Taylormade would be my guess, it does not look like a Lancer to me.
I think I may have asked this before, where did you race back in the day? I remember the Cambridge club well, in Maitland. It is still there, still runnning on the same track in the same building after 40 years.

Awesome vintage slot story for a snowy NY day. I remember the gigantic pan head screws to mount the body -- no "womp clips" back then!
Nice that you still have that car in your possession. The only real vintage slots I have from the early 60's are some of my original Aurora T-Jet racers,
some stock, some modified. That's what I started with in the Winter of '62, so I guess it's fitting -- I still race them to this day!
Thanks for the photos and story... HAPPY NEW YEAR !! -- Ernie

I loved the 60's era slots. Co- owned a commercial track form '63 to '66. No pics either.

Alwyn,
Thanks for the reminder, I remember reading and hearing about the club in the Strand. Never did get to see the track though, or meet anyone who raced there.
I will research the body some time, it does not look like the Lancer that was on the Cox Daytona Series cars, perhaps a Pactra, but in 1/32 scale I doubt it. It's not a Betta body either.

Those AMT chassis were pretty good. Too bad they didn't bring them back on their new releases.
