Thanks to the powers that be for replacing Speed Channel!! :angry-tappingfoot: .We have too many channels devoted to sports 24-7 . Without Speed Channel you won't be seeing live coverage of The Rolex 24 hrs. from Daytona, 24 Hours of Le Mans,Aussie Super Cars, etc.... :angry-soapbox: Enough is enough :angry-cussingblack:

I agree with you! The local track always had SPEED playing on the monitors - they have had to switch to the history channel as an alternate. Was sad to see it go... :(

But yeah, SpeedTV is gone in the US. They got taken over by Fox. The Rolex 24 was aired in 3 or 4 different segments on different Fox stations. I managed to record them all, and watched the whole 24 hour race in less than 12 hours (skipping the commercials :lol: )

That aside, glad to see you're well enough to post here on HRW. the world hasn't been the same without you.

Hi I lost speed chanel with dish network but to shut me up I received MAV TV channel 248 a great channel if you like dirt cars and VLCTY TV cars and auctions

It now takes Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, and Mav TV to get a dribble of auto racing.
I hope it improves when the season rolls around full force.
The good old Fox station in St. Louis put on two pet (as in animal) programs and a Brainiac paid advertisement in place of the start of the 24 Hours. They're very customer oriented: I haven't received a reply from my contact.

Kudos on Mav TV. They have the WRC coverage now, some of it live.

Fox sports 2 covered most of the Daytona 24. But I agree that, with 74 sports channels on my AT&T
account, there should be one dedicated to auto racing, both current and historic. I don't get
Velocity unless I subscribe to HD, which just repeats all the other channels in high def, which I can't
use. Another good channel that is only available in HD is Palladium. But I won't pay an additional $99
just to get those two channels.

My major beef with the demise of speed is that now I gotta look all over to find the shows that I already had programmed into my DVR, this will take a couple years for seasonal stuff like the DTM's and WTC, where as with Speed it was already programmed in and it would just pick up every year. With the breakup of the speed programming who know what channel it will be on from year to year, just makes my life very difficult. I DO like that this has given new life to some other channels like Velocity and some show are on Nat. Geo.

There has been some positive aspects, I am not pounded with stupid shows like Pass time, or allot of the stuff like that and it limits to a certain extent reruns of certain shows that where good but the ran into the ground. I think many of the people from Speed must have gone to velociity though, because some things are eerily similar to what speed used to do. I am REALLY getting tired of Chassing classic cars and Wheeler dealer reruns!!

The weird part is that the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction which was previously
carried by Speedchannel is now on National Geographic

I never understood why B-J was on Speed...
