This is exactly why I haven't sold any of mine. Even if I haven't actually seen them for years hidden away in a box, I would regret it later if I sold them.

Yes lists like that can make you sigh..... :cry:
Now compare that to the 1:1 cars from your past and what they are worth now.
A selection of mine and what I sold them for:
62 Corvair Syder Coupe $275.00
63 TBird Convertible $900.00 (trade in)
59 TR3 (x 2) one for $600.00 the other for $650.00
68 Mustang Notchback traded even for 65 Triumph Spitfire
59 Renault Dauphine $125.00
There are many others but these are at the top of my "oh crap, I should have kept that" list. :roll:

The right post at the right time. I've regretted selling some cars and have been contemplating selling more. Maybe not now........ I just don't have the motivation to sell.

I guess we all have our regret lists. I sold a lot of stuff off over the past couple of years. I don't want to remind myself of all of it but two of my most memorable blunders were letting go of a Monogram Fireball Roberts Galaxie and TWO Ned Jarrett Galaxies (BNIB for $30 each!). :doh: To ease the pain I remind myself of some of the great buys I've made during the same period. It helps. :)

I do understand what Old Johnny says about letting go of stuff. I know it's liberating but these little toys have a firm hold on me. It's hard to let go. But I too have been giving serious thought to liquidating my collection (and other stuff) so as not to someday burden my daughter with things in which she has no interest or appreciation.

Just think how happy you have made your fellow slot enthusiasts :)

Every time I go through the list of cars I might sell, I go nah - there is a reason I bought that car can't recall what is was but there was a reason..... though in saying that I was collecting 3 of cars because I had a 3 lane track (well that is my excuse) and now I have a 2 lane track I am thinking of selling of some of the 3rd cars (and some of the 4th or 5th ones as well :)) So I line them up and say which one of you guys is for the chop - I give them a run and each one of them does their best to convince me to keep it :lol: so at the moment they are all still in the collection

The way I look at it if I sell something there is usually a reason behind it, so I don't dwell on the past as you can't bring it back. :)

I've sold off more slot cars in the past 2 years - almost 100. Don't miss any except for 6 of them:

My RMS Busch Stockers. Can't remember who purchased them, but it may have been Dave Dobner. I would LOVE to get them back and will never sell any resins again.

The only other car is a Monogram GP Ferrari with brass chassis in perfect condition. Found it in a box about 10 years ago and thought I could use the money on eBay. Didn't do my homework and it sold for only $35 to a gent in Austria.

The way my luck goes if I did try to sell anything, I usually only get about 1/2 what I was asking for it, then if I want to buy it back later I have to pay twice as much as I was asking for originally. So I never sell anything, I worked to hard to get it in the first place.

Bibbs, you are in luck because I still have just about every car on that list and I can sell'em to you for slightly more money! ;-)

It will probably get worse too....

.....I got rid of my shelf queens last year, glad I did, lost on some, made a motza on others, ended up square or a tad over.

Wont be getting into that side of the hobby again, what I have now (about 200 1/32 cars) will be run, except for my Carrera classic Nascars, they are the only ones worthy enough to earn a place on the display shelf :)

Ill enjoy my runners, thats what they were made for.
