I've been wanting to add another model car specific (cars only -- no trains, planes, ect.) show to the Long Island model/toy schedule.
For a few years now there has only been the Super Bowl Sunday Slot Car Show (where I am a vendor since the inaugural event), promoted by my good friend "Mr. Aurora" Bob Beers.
Then, nothing all through spring and summer until the Long Island Auto Replica Society's annual Model Car Challenge in November (a model car club of which I am a member/show vendor).
Both events are well known, well attended, and over twenty years running. Now, Bob and I are proud to present:

"THE LONG ISLAND TOY CAR TRIFECTA" -- featuring slot cars, model kits, and diecast vehicles.
There will also be a FREE to enter plastic model car exhibit, as well as a customized slot car exhibit, with a trophy plaque for each.
We have brought together vendors from all three areas of the automotive model hobby. Vendor tables are sold out!

*The Date -- Sunday, April 13, 2014 -- 10am - 2pm. -- Admission $5 adults, under 12 free. "Early Birds" @ 8am, $20.
*The Venue -- MASSAPEQUA ELKS LODGE - 2162 Veteran's Blvd. Massapequa, Long Island, NY 11758 - A clean, well lit room with indoor lobby and food/refreshment service.
*The Info -- Across from the Long Island RR Massapequa station, plenty of FREE parking, or take the train! Door prize raffle tickets with admission.

This event is being well promoted locally at all the hobby stores, slot car raceways and area merchants. LI's Newsday newspaper will be running a small feature on the show as well.
If you're in the area, come spend a few hours with us and be part of a new Long Island model car tradition.

One week to go - Bob sent out over 500 emails and I've been "pounding the pavement" here on Long Island with words and flyers.
Long Islanders can look for a small article in Newsday's Wednesday 4/9/14 issue in the "Explore LI" section.
Weather should be partly sunny, temps in the 50's. Looking forward...

I would like to personally thank all the vendors, attendees, and those who participated in the model/slot exhibition
at the inaugural LONG ISLAND TOY CAR TRIFECTA. I have received nothing but good feedback from all who attended.
Beautiful weather on Palm Sunday didn't deter model car fans from the gate! I was happy to see many families at the show.
There were smiles all around during free kid's gifts, door prize and trophy plaque presentations, which I enjoyed hosting.
Look for a small feature story on FIOS 1 TV in the coming week or so. An interview, running my vendor booth and other event chores
made for a busy, pleasantly enjoyable day for me! The vendors remained set up for the entire show, too -- THANKS TO YOU ALL !!
Bob and I are trying to find a date in September that will work for us, so stay tuned!
The tremendously huge NNL East Model Car Exhibtion and Vendor Swap Meet on Saturday, April 26th in Wayne, NJ is next.
Then the Slot Car Show in Parsippany, NJ on Sunday, May 18th. Both events are held at their local community's PAL halls.
