Well the order was placed and the item shipped on March 21st.
Yet today is April 8th, 17 days after it was shipped and I have not yet received my parcel.
I've been communicating with the vendor and there does not appear to be any issues, so I'm still hoping the car is sitting in Customs somewhere along the line - yes it is an international transaction.
I've never had this happen before. Do you have any recourse with them saying they have shipped the package, but you have never received the package? I was not offered a choice on shipping, such as insured, etc so I'm really at a loss for what I can do should this not arrive someday.
Any ideas?

Live and learn don't buy over seas if you don't have to.

Mike,
I checked ALL of my first choice vendors. NONE of them had the car in stock. So, I took a chance that I do NOT think I will ever repeat.

I've bought overseas countless times in the last 10 years, never had an order lost. Numerous times, though, there have been hold-ups, and numerous times I'm seen other guys complain about long delivery times from overseas. Yet somehow, the orders always seem to arrive. Be patient.

Ditto what ElSecundo said.
I've bought from overseas a lot over the years, and not just slot cars. I only buy from overseas when there is a significant amount of savings involved, enough to at least compensate for the possible aggravation of a package that decided to go on holiday. I once had a non-slot product take a 3 month boat trip from Singapore.
Speaking strictly of my slot-related purchases, there have been times when I've received boxes within one week of ordering. There was also one case where it took five weeks. That one was a doozy- the box went from the UK to France, then to Portugal, then back to France, then spent some time in NY customs, then finally made its way to me. And while the shipping box wasn't that pretty when it finally showed up, the resin kit and photo-etched parts inside were very much intact.
Just keep in mind that security is tight these days, plus shipments are often held in Europe until they have enough weight or cartons to fill either a shipping container or cargo jet. I've found that ordering around Christmas time ensure a speedy shipment, since there are already a lot of other packages on the move. This time of year, things are slow and so it may take a little longer.
