Ok, heading to Melbourne this Wednesday until next Thursday. I'm going to St. Pete to see my inlaws and ListerStorm over the weekend, but that means I have evenings free!
I see this place:
www.TheRaceway.biz is only 13 minutes from my hotel! Anyone know these folks? Looks like a nice facility.
Anyone else close by? I know Marty and Bob are somewhere in the area - where you boys at?

The Raceway.biz is operated by Bill Pinch. Bill is probably one of the best people that have ever run a slot racing establishment.
Currently they are running FCRs on their 56 foot tri-oval "Phoenix", drag racing and 1/24th flexi cars on the 135 foot Hillclimb.
There is a group that runs at Brandywine Raceway - small group of home racers - oops, looks like Kenny is headed to Barrett Jackson this week so racing might be cancelled.
Here is the contact info:
TheRaceway.biz
1220 Sarno Road

bill@theRaceway.bizNow, DeBary Glen Raceways is about 60 miles from where you're staying - 90 to 95 percent interstate driving. I sure do hope you can squeeze some time in to come and visit with us.
Let me know what night is good for you and we'll get something set up.

DeBary is a must when coming into the central Florida area. Two wonderful tracks to run on. The four lane Scalextric Sport track is 66 feet of magnet challenged racing known as "DeBary Glen" and "Palm Bay" is a MDF four lane masterpiece of equal length. Prepare yourself because once there you will spend hours running cars, talking slot car history and slot racing theories with Marty Stanley and Bob Dewoody. A visit to DeBary is always a class in advance education for me. :music-rockout:

Looks like about an hour and a half from my hotel to you guys. Let me see what the schedule looks like so we can plan an evening. I believe my work is over between 4-5pm so I could roll out quickly, race for a few hours and still get some shut eye before the next day.
I'll be in touch!

Wow. Sorry I missed this. I have been stuck here in Naples, FL this week as I have relatives and a business to run.
However, Friday I will be visiting in The Villages (North Central FL)???????? Anyone around there? ;)

Had the honor of visiting Bob and Marty tonight. Had a great time getting to check out their cars and tracks. Really enjoyed getting to hang out and talk slot cars so far away from home! You boys build some smooth and good looking cars.
Thanks for inviting me over guys!!
The best thing about this hobby? The folks you meet!

David,
I won't speak for Bob, but I sure did enjoy your visit this evening.
What more can anyone ask then an evening with friends, both old and new, having FUN running their slot cars around a track?
Thanks for taking the time to drive up and visit.
