My son opted for the R/T Classic version when he bought his 2013 Dodge Challenger. He ordered it in orange with black stripes. I think it's very close to the appearance of the original Challenger.

Now, turbo or twin turbo charging is a quick way to get added horsepower. One of my friends owns South Georgia Corvette. In his shop is a chassis dyno and I've seen the needle swing over 1100 when he made a run on his twin turbo charged Dodge Viper. BTW - it's a scary ride when you're in the right side seat of the car! :angry-screaming:

Today with all the engine control systems I think we will see almost 200 horsepower per liter as the upper limit of most motors. I'm basing this on motorcycle technology, which is quickly being used in automotive engine design. Now that is normally aspirated! So if you add a turbo or two, just imagine how much power can be made. H'mmm 6 liters is 1200 horses, add a couple of turbos, some nitrous and the next thing you know is the dyno is showing 2200 horses! Yeah Baby!

I want this supercharged Hemi goodness. I don't know what I'll do if we get one in at work.

Since the Challenger was introduced, I can't think of another 1:1 car that has excited me as much.

Well, mine is only a six, but as a daily driver it is excellent. After driving a Mustang GT with heavy
springs, shocks, steering and clutch for eight years as my regular car, driving the Challenger is quite
pleasant. I'll admit that the SRT challenger was my first interest, and I had saved up for one, but
medical bills used up that money. So after turning it over in my mind, I decided that I would probably
be happier with a less intense car for commuting. especially since I do have plenty of other play-toy
cars to get goofy with. It might be old age creeping in on me, but I just want to relax while driving
home from work.

I hope they didn't name it Hellcat because it is such a monster to control like the chubby dive bomber that had that name originally. With 707hp, that could be it!

I looked it up. The chubby one was Wildcat. Come to think of it, Corsair is actually closer to the right name, isn't it? With 707hp, it is like that gull-winged marvel... a very large engine with an airplane attached.

Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.



I drive what I like, what I find comfortable and fun. If I had the cash, the Hellcat would be in my garage. I really don't speed either, but I would take it to Track Day.

And then, some of us don't drive our performance cars insanely fast on public roads. We take them
to track days and do it there. I outgrew street racing in the sixties. But I still enjoy driving a fast
car on the road within safe limits, knowing what it can do but keeping a rein on it.
