I saw some info (on another site), about cleaning Ninco track, (which is what I have). They recommended to not use any chemicals on the plastic, at all. The track has a rough surface, and they said to only run cars fitted with rubber tires to allow the rubber, to build on the track. For that reason, they said it's best, to only vacuum Ninco track, and to use alcohol, (or other electrical contact cleaner, or somebody even suggested WD 40), to clean the rails. They recommended that this be done every 2 weeks. I did the rail cleaning "thing" this morning, and man, did it need it!

What about the rest of you folks? Any track cleaning ideas and/or rituals?

When I had NINCO that is all I did, run the small Shop Vac over it. The high points of the surface make the grip pretty good most times.

And they are correct. Keep any harsh chemicals away from your plastic and rails.

For any kind of conductive rails, use this stuff. Follow the instructions and you will be fine.

I also use a small California car duster (Wallyworld has them) to dust the track. Amazing what that thing picks up!

You should already have a bottle of Inox MX3 in your kit. Put a little on a rag and clean the rails with that, It cleans and conditions for better conductivity.

Microfibre duster for the track and Inox MX3 on the rails. It doesn't need much or often. Maybe every 6 to 8 weeks dose up the braids of a car and run them round the track after the initial application. Been doing that for the last 4 years. Never a problem.
