The sad part is the politicians are now becoming the folks making the decisions in this war. Kind of reminds you of a small country in Southeast Asia?
From what I have read and watched on the available media, the gunman that shot Major General Greene was a "plant" of the Taliban. (you don't suppose it was one of those 5 released from Gitmo?)
It is a sorry state of affairs that our leaders have put our military in.
This is extremely sad and it comes at a time that every time I hear "Taliban", "Kabul", etc my heart jumps to my throat...(Ranger Stepson is on his 4th deployment). The leaders have truly sold the military "down the river" (again)...the only comfort I can draw is that General Greene took the same oath I and every other military man did and he knew the risks involved. My thoughts go out to his family.
