My '65 Mustang was stolen from my driveway one night, and the knucklehead who stole it messed up the hotwire job and cooked the coil. Our paperboy found it parked about a 1/2 mile away, still on his route. He called the cops, the cops called my house, a tow truck was sent, and my car was back on the driveway by noon. I replaced the coil and coil wire and drove it when I got home.

My mom had a 260Z that was stolen out of her driveway; It did not run and needed a little work. Come to find that it was stolen by a guy who just got out of jail and had a thing for Z cars! I guess he could not stand to see it sitting there so he took it and started working on it, got it running and did some of the minor body work it needed.
When the cops found it he had already primed it so the insurance company paid for it to be repainted!
My mom basically got her car rebuilt for free, then turned around and sold it while it was in good shape for a tidy profit!
The con, oh! he went back to jail! :|
