Been scarce here the past week or two, working 8-10 hour days at home preparing merchandise for the upcoming model/slot car show season.
Starting with an overnighter in Lawrence, MA this weekend with the annual CLASSIC PLASTIC model car show.
I've got about a dozen shows I'm working as a vendor between now and New Year's Eve.
I'll check in when I get a chance here and there, hopefully I don't miss too much FUN!
Keep it in the slot, guys... Ernie :>)

You didn't introduce yourself to me last Sunday, did you? Don't recall anyone mentioning HRW to me at all.
I was the guy at the "ERNIE'S MODEL AUTO PARTS" set up with the two tables and five tall shelving units,
filled with thousands of little packages containing plastic model car kit parts.
Did you purchase anything? If you did... THANK YOU! -- Ernie :>)

Hey Ernie. I did look at parts at your booth. I didn't even realize it was yours! You may have busy dealing with someone else also. Picked up some kits there. Not much of anything for slot cars though.

Just to let you know, there will be a show (traditionally a large train show), in Poughkeepsie, NY on Sunday November 9th. I will be attending as a vendor this year, because it is now being opened up to slot cars, model cars, diecast, ect. There are vendors in that area that I know from the slot car show circuit that will be working the show, and they recommended me to the promoters. It should be just a straight run across the state for you, me -- I've got to cross bridges and all that other delightful NYC stuff! Let me know if you'd like to attend, I'll try to get you some more info and then you could take a little road trip with a few of your buddies.
See ya next time... Ernie :>)

Just about bedtime... been at it all day again, getting stuff together for this Saturday in Poughkeepsie, NY.
This is a traditional model show/swap meet, and not the show I was talking about earlier in this thread.
Just search HVHMG (HUDSON VALLEY HISTORICAL MINIATURES GUILD) for info.
Been doing this one for the past few years, it's fun and not too long a ride for me from LI.
Still oval racing @ Small Torque Motor Speedway on Mondays, points races start in a week or two.
Have fun, guys... Ernie

Returned home last night from the show in Poughkeepsie, NY. This annual event was again successful for the club and model builders, with 250+ models entered on the contest tables. The action was hot and heavy at the "make and take" table, too, with many youngsters getting their first taste of building a model car or plane for themselves. The club supplies Revell snap kits and supervision for the kids.
The activity through the front door was good, and I had a steady stream of model car builders at my vendor booth most of the day.
I'm sure that being the only strictly automotive vendor at the show had something to do with that! There were a few model car kits for sale scattered amongst all the armor, aircraft, sci fi, figures... but no slot stuff, of course. I did find some car model kits for the right price in 1/32-1/24/25 scales that will be finding their way to the slot track, so I went home happy!
Next up is the show hosted by the DIVERSIFIED SCALERZ club in northern NJ, this coming Saturday October 25. Check facebook for info.
The predominate themes for this club are tuners, lowriders and big rig truck models. This year's special theme is the Chevrolet Nova, so I'm looking forward to seeing lots of cool American muscle on the contest tables, and some familiar faces at my vendor booth, too!
Gotta get back to work packin' up more model parts... Enjoy! -- Ernie :>)
