by GENERAL MY WAY
This weekend I took a trip with my daughter and grankids. Of course we had a blast! On the way back
we had to made a pit stop to stretch our legs for the last hour of the trip. I do have to say that right
up the road we have one of the best rest areas I have ever seen. The kids had a blast and of course
I have to share it with you guys. :D

Before we got there I had this in my rearview mirror. That makes it hard to watch the road ahead.
So yes I LET him pass. AND NO I WAS NOT TAKING THE PICS! :o

That brings back some cool memories for me! Having been born and raised in Illinois, Route 66 was a favorite road to travel for my family. Now i live in Georgia, and am less than an 1/8 of a mile from HWY 41!, This road has been in song and history for a long time, and used to be a stagecoach route before a roadway, so you can imagine all the similarities between it and 66. all the old motels and drive inns, etc. 41 was the major north south highway till I-75 Came through in the 60's, now it is broken up with small towns that are nearly ghost towns, much like Route 66.
Thanks for the Memory's! I miss that area a lot from time to time.
