Snow?

Let me start by saying that nothing happens here in California. It gets a tad hot but otherwise it's pretty tame. I wish we had ONE good weekend of snow. Even lake-effect snow would be fine. Man, that looks like fun back east. Anyone snowed in?

I've grown up in a few dumpings but they only lasted 2 days at most. I have been frozen without power for a week (in Vancouver no less), now that was interesting. I just see all that snow back east and would love my kids to experience that. It's all sun all the time pretty much here in the California Central Valley.

No, thanks. I'm originally from Rochester, just down the road, and that was bad enough. This is epic snow, and there will be 20-foot snow drifts that bury houses.

Didn't you guys have a 7-foot snowfall in the late 90's/early 2000s?

When I lived in London, Ontario, the first snow was usually around the time we got settled into the school year, and it was still on the ground when the last snow came in April. But it had time to crush down between snows, so we almost never had more than 4 feet showing at any time. But we still had drifts that would cover the side of a two story house sometimes. What's happening in Buffalo makes us look like amateurs.

Then there's El Sucko...of course, there are exceptions to the "nice people from Rochester" thing... just sayin'.

Below are a few pics OR links regarding the snow in Buffalo(actually south and east of our downtown.
These pics were after I snow blowed for the 1st time on Tuesday.Luckily my neighbor has a tractor and he has been pushing the snow from my driveway apron onto my lawn. You will see how the blowing snow hangs from my roof.
Latest concerns here are for flat roofed buildings such as mobile homes and nursing homes. Our county executive is doing an awesome job.
The county executive is PISSED that the NFL is trying to play a game here on Sunday. He said he can not supply county resources like police and EMT's to a football game while the county is in a state of emergency. Rumors circulating that game may be moved to another city. The Bills haven't been able to practice all week.
I live in the town of Depew which is about a mile from Lancaster (see pic).
A local nursing home just had a partial roof collapse. Patients being removed via ambulance.

Im just across the lake a bit maybe 30 miles and glad we only got the high winds and about 2inches of the white stuff
The one in 77 had us in 7 foot and higher snows.
