As many of you have commented in PM's, I've been missing in action. There has been a very good reason for that.
Back in September at a Mid Florida Scale Auto Racing Group Race, I was having trouble breathing. It turned out to be Edema. My body was collecting fluids and it was drowning me.
It was ER time, hospital time, poking, prodding, all bodily orifices were targeted. They could not find a thing. I was in pain most of the time and the best they could do was prescribe pain killers. Trust me, I appreciated that, but then again, I was not the keen mind that I normally am.
Then came the announcement from the specialist that I will guarantee you that you never want to hear. "You have Cancer."
Today I just got back from the big city hospital in Orlando where I met with a top notch Gastroenterologist and he used a special scanning technique that was not available in my local hospital.
After the procedure the doctor had a smile on his face when he walked into the recovery area. Then he told me while it was Cancerous, it had not had the time to attached itself to anything and it could be fully removed surgically.
So, the best Christmas gift I've ever received came early this year.
I still have some surgery, chemo and radiation to deal with, but bottom line is I'll be Cancer free!
