The "almost annual" (it was snowed out last year) POWRi Battle at the Center in DuQuoin, Il.

As an extra, I stopped off to grab dinner in town. As I was thumbing through The Southern Illinoisan paper, I saw an advertisement for Carrera slot cars, courtesy Jim Kirk at the LGB Train Shop in nearby Carterville, Il. (www.pizzatrains.com).

You know I just had a thought a great aspect to caution flags is everyone slows down.......
With Track Mate on our road course the power is shut off during a track call, what if instead the voltage dropped so the cars come to a crawl, that would be interesting.....

I almost was there myself....It's only about an hour from my place. One of my coffee buddies ran those things in the 50's 3 or 4 times
a week around here when they had skinny "knobbies" I worked at ATT with one of the owners of all the cars the Kneppers drive.

Hey I just spent 6 minutes watching #39 finally pass the leader (tried a few times on the inside next to the dirt burms and that was not the fast method) and then the filming stopped! Ack...Who won?? LOL... I hope he held on to win. It was fun seeing them deal with the backmarker car. That guy should have pulled out of the way.

The #39 took the win over the #9 car.
The end was there. The flagman could be seen waving the white flag towards the end.
The #17 car that spun earlier was Ricky Stenhouse (no, Danica was not seen). He went to the back of the pack and drove to 4th to make the main.

The first 20 laps of the main were led by Bryan Clauson when a caution flag came out. Clauson proceeded to run away and hide until he was taken out on an encounter with spinning cars on lap 34. He went to the back and moved up to finish second to winner Saldana.
