Happy Birthday to my American auto racing hero, Mr. Anthony Joseph (AJ) Foyt, Jr.
Glad to hear that he is recovering well from some complications after surgery. This man has survived tractors falling on him,
attacks by bees, and many assorted 150-200 mph crashes, from stockers (that #00 '65 Ford Galaxie you see flipping end over end in the final few minutes of "Red Line 7000" is him, breaking his back at Riverside, CA), to prototype sports cars, and Indy cars. He's also the only racer to have won the Indy 500 (first 4 time winner), Daytona 500, and the 24 Hours of LeMans (that one shared with my other American racing hero, fellow Long Islander Mr. Dan Gurney). He's also a winner of the 12 Hours of Sebring, and a 2 time winner of the Daytona 24 hours prototype sports car race, which is now called the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
