Those of you that have, what radii is useful? What were you looking for in the car? Any other ideas?

Radius = 1.5', looking at traction in corner situations, tire break-in, easy to construct.

Sounds great if you have the room. My slot room is so small I have to grease the cat to get her in.

I made a 48 inch circle, then routed three concentric circles. Everything was fine until I painted it with the wrong paint. I still don't know how I screwed that up.

I've been using a skid pad for years now and have one built into my track. It's easy to find problems with your car on a skid pad as a problem will show up right away. What you can't do on a skid pad is tune a car. Making a car fast on a skid pad will not always make it fast on the track. As an example I have found no matter what, adding weight to a car will always make it faster when testing on the skid pad but the same is not true on the track. I've had some extremely fast cars on the track that aren't the fastest on the skid pad. They're fast but not as fast as I thought they would be.
I have a 12 inch radius skid pad.
