This is my second test track in a year. :lol: Wasn't real crazy about the first on. Went with black and didn't care for it. Also had trouble with the braid coming up. Which was my own fault for not painting and sanding the gains. Oh well, to the dumpster it went. :)
This one haven't had any trouble with braid and like the color much better. It's 32x97 this time think the other was 36x84. Anyway ended up with exactly 29' lap length. Going with a bit of scenery also. Trees, bushes and flat rock. Went with vinyl back grass mat summer look. Trees are on their way along with a riggen garage for pit area. Think it's pretty cool. Kinda an old school garage with sliding door. Still undecided on guardrails. Been thinking about using 1/4" wide styrene two high with a gap between and 1/4"square post. :confusion-scratchheadyellow: Found pit wall barrier on shapeways I will probably end up getting later. Here's a few pics so far.















Haven't came up with a name for her yet.

Sunshine Speedway, Bikini Beach Speedway, Del Boca Vista Speedway (remember whose parents moved there?), Cape Canaveral Speedway, Cape Kennedy Speedway, Gator Speedway, Okefenokee Swamp Speedway, ...

That's all I got, for now. Oh wait, Fountain of Youth Speedway.

Looks awful fun for a little F.R.T. ..... lol, I just couldn’t resist.

I still have that exact same “tail gator” Florida postcard I bought in 1980 in sunny FL. I was on a frat brothers trip to Santa Rosa Island near Pensacola the week between finals and graduation. I actually even remember a little bit of that trip.

I like the gray color on the new FRT track better too. You need to establish a series of ‘pull my finger’challenge races. Sorry, that joke stunk.

Got a little scenery in this past week. The pit garage is okay except for the door opening is not very wide. Could be opened up easy enough but, I decided to put the stairs on the right side not thinking about it. Oh well. Good enough for who it's for. :) I'm digging it so far. Get some flat rocks made and order some conifer trees for that small section. And work on pit walls.

Very nice progress. I'm sure after a little FRT time you feel much better.

As a solo racer I've been toying with the idea of making a one lane track - actually 2 lanes with a crossover so it takes 2 times around to record a lap time at the start/finish dead strip. I'm all for the longest lap times possible.

What are you using for track power and voltage? What are some of your lap times? What's the trickiest part of the course to drive, place you are most likely to spin out or deslot?
