GVSCC tracks - Tri-oval added
Posted: Wed Apr 10, 2019 3:29 pmGreater Vancouver Slot Car Club (GVSCC) has a new track, a tri-oval, quite different than the road courses we`re accustomed to.
Luf, our track builder guru, is almost finished on this five-laner, banging it out in less than a week covering an area of 10 feet x 24 feet. The far corner`s banked and the rest flat. Of course, he couldn`t wait and powered the middle lane estimating we`ll be doing four second laps. The slots have 4 inches separation, so there`ll be plenty of room to run 1/24 scale cars.
Clubmate Roger`s working on the timing software and hardware and is going to scrounge more lighting fixtures.
Thanks to Tanex Ron and Marie for getting the 5/8" mdf board through their lumber wholesaler and Venture copper tape (7/32" wide, 1 mil thick).
I`ve done a test run with 1/32 and 1/24 scale cars and it`s fast. There`s going to be a lot of hooting and hollering on race night.
