Nice job. Not sure what you had for a track before, but if it was plastic I am sure you dont miss the clickity clack on this wood track.

:text-thankyouyellow: What thickness of MDF did you use?

Dan, the 1/2” mdf is indeed smoother than my late 60’s Revell plastic track.

Is this two 4X8 sheets in an L configuration?

Dan, I glued and screwed 1/8” 4X8’ plywood over 2X4 frames and bolted them together in an L. MDF went over that base.It made it easy to support the elevated section. After a couple races with my guys I added a second drivers station for one lane at the hilltop/bridge end to aid sight lines and marshaling. Overall feels pretty good for a first time effort by a guy with rudimentary carpentry skills and no prior router experience.

My second routed track (road course) was a more challenging project than my first routed track (oval), by design. I bought some 1/2" mdf handy panels (2'x4') and practiced on them, then got 3 full sheets for the track itself. A few goofs, but nothing major or that I hadn't already encountered.

Nice work Mr. Thumbs. Routed track are not nearly as hard to do as we think before trying.

Absolutely, slothead! I’ve been posting pics from the beginning of the build to encourage other newbies to go for it. The whole process has been a fun learning adventure. Ready to try my hand at scratch-building chassis next as the techniques have changed quite a bit from my last brass bending in the late 60’s.
