Opinions wanted! new track to start.

Hey Guys and Gals, I just acquired a 12 x16 climate controlled area to build another track!
I will be in the planning stages for a while,so i build the right set up the first time, I am leaning towards a rally type road course that would allow a ton of scenery and interesting challenges for the vintage sports cars that will be running on it.
I am currently thinking about a single lane routed track to maximize the amount of run time, and make it a timed event with a lot of variation in elevation. Since most of us get a lot of race time all by ourselves,i thought this might be a great way to build a new track? and of course the ability to challenge others to beat the best time!
I already have a left over SD timing system or i will go the dead strip route/track mate software.Any one ever do this? how quickly did you get bored with it? Just looking for any insight i might be missing. I am thinking maybe Pan -Am style?
Lots of possibilities for some cool car builds that way! I see early vettes,Old Mercury sedans/specials of all kinds.
Looking at mountainous region down thru small desert area, small towns, checkpoints, that sort of scenario.

Well like you said, lots of us run solo and running for time is a lot of fun. In fact we have done this same thing even though we have 3 lanes. It's just a fun challenge to pick a car and take turns seeing who can milk it the best :)

Good luck, I am sure you will make a great track.

But you cannot ignore the oval racing ok? It's a new rule :)
