Yeah, that was my first thought. Too much grip is worse than not enough.

What about this stuff with a thin coat of a non-slick floor wax over it? The kind that is used in public buildings to shine without attracting furball lawyers.

I don't know about this particular brand and formulation (looks expensive) but I know PlastiDip has been used succesfully on both plastic and wooden track offering a good and consistent surface.

You don't understand. Undercoating is 1/8th inch thick no matter how you put it on.

I have used it on cars before, it can be sprayed thinner than 1/8. Really, believe it or not, it can.
I have put about 1/32" thick coating on the lower panels (below the door panels) on cars and then painted over it with the paint color that was used on the body or with flat black for a very nice effect. I wasn't asking how thick the product is, I am familiar with it, I was just asking if anyone has used it on a track, and apparently not. :)
