Currently rebuilding my sport layout and have raised the table height to 48". This for 2 reasons, first I had bunch of 4 foot 2x3 s to use as legs, second I aquired 2 swivle bar stools with backs for no cost. Im lazy and frugal, age does that to you. Anyway this serms a tad high, thinking og dropping to 42-44 high, but wondered what others used. The 4 to 6 inch drop will make getting those cars that jump off the track, back on.

I have had 36 inch, 48 inch, and 52 inch heights over the years. I found that a person just automatically adjusts, and everything is fine, but beware the track that doesn't have catch fencing! As far as standing height is concerned, I built platforms to move into place for kids and women to stand on.

I built mine high enough to slide my table saw under and xtra storage. Built a platform for racers to stand on and doubles as a saw horse work bench

I made mine low enough that a marshal can reach over to the middle without too much hassle. And it is high enough so you don't have to bend. Plus I get storage.

My new track is 33in high. Perfect for storage under it and easy to reach across. And not to tall for the kids. Indybob
