Is it me or do the Carrera borders remind anyone else of candy canes. I don't think that there is a real circut where there rumble strips look like them. They just don't look right.

Actually the Carrera track takes to paint very well.
One of our club members has done his similar to Peters.
the track not the scenery lol
Simply used latex indoor house paint , and that was about 5 yrs ago
and it still looks great.

How does painting Carrera track with latex impact the grip? Do the stock Carrera tires loose grip, gain, it or stay the same? How about Paul Gage tires- is grip gained, lost, or unchanged?
I would think that painting the surface would cause a dramatic difference in the cars' handling.
But yeah, back to the original post, I agree that the track certainly doesn't look realistic. But hey, Carrera makes up for it with all of the fun that their products bring. It took me a while to realize that you don't need a museum-worthy model to enjoy scale racing.
But having said that, whitworthnut's cars and track are museum worthy! Unbelievable!

Peter, where are the pix of your slot car track? I'd like to see more of it.
