Thanks for all the positive feedback on this! It was/is a simple project. I used a gear reduction motor from a dollar store animated Christmas ornament. Removed the linkage, and put a three inch round plate on the motor shaft. Bent up two sides to activate the rod on the Strombecker flagman. Drilled a hole through the table and glued the guy down. simple and effective. It really adds some realism to that area of the track. just a little movement here and there really makes the track come alive.
