New fence up

Wanted to get a fence put up on the old oval for awhile. Needed something that was strong as well as looked somewhat scale appealing.
I used 3/32nd steel rod from Lowe's. I measured and spaced the rods about 4 inches apart. I drilled a hole into the mdf the same size and tapped the rods in with a small hammer.
Then I spray painted some plastic door screen I get at Lowe's silver. Finally, I used craft wire to loop through and secure the screen and the bottom edge that cannot be seen is sealed with a bead of hot glue.

Looks ok to me. It will also help keep cars from falling out into "The Dead Zone" where it can be hard to reach :)

I agree, I really like how it turned out. Besides, some knucklehead in a purple Mopar kept sending me off there...

Looking good - you need to do a tutorial on Pray Painting though I haven't tried that technique :)

Awesome looking fence Harry!
Do you need a tissue David? Rubbing is racing and it is how some of us make it around the track!

Yeah, I remember you leaning on me to get around the track...I didn't realize you needed training wheels!
Harry, you'd better put more of this up everywhere around the track!

I am beginning to think even a 1:1 scale version won't be strong enough :)

Harry, that fence needs a touch of rust to give it character.

Yes it does.
I am doing the other end now. But I am going to have to use the stronger plastic gutter guard there. We race too hard and just don't think the small screen will hold up.

Yeah especially when Jeremy and Tubby come over to jump cars. You had better just put up sheet metal...

What's funny is every time I hear you talk, this is what I picture:

Did your wife take this picture on Christmas morning?
I'll assume that is one of your stock Monogram wheels on the front...
