Since i made my inside corners close to the lanes to give a realistic look so the cars would run over the rumble strips like a real track I decided it needed to look more realistic. I was thinking last weekend what I could use instead of paint to get the desired look. I came up with the idea of using a black colored pencil then rubbing it with my fingers to smear and blend the color. It is a very simple process but gives a more realistic look to the track surface and rumble strips. I also thought about trying a charcoal pencil that artists use but I used what I had on hand. In all I am happy with the results and very easy to do.

Works a treat, although your line into the corner might be a little wrong. The technique works well, just a little adjustment required on where it's applied.

Perhaps you need a few bald tracks through the grass too, where they've got the entry all wrong.
