Newbie to try to make routed track...

Hello ...
Is this what I want/need to rout on 1/2 MDF .....1/32 scale ? How deep ?

Yes, that bit will work. Set it as deep as it will go. Can't tell from the pic if its single or double fluted. If it's double(Two cutter blades) Take your time with it. The double flutes make a great cut, they just tend to be a bit weak and will snap the cutter off if you get to much pressure on them

After routing the grandsons track and all 5 panes of the mod. track my double fluted straight flute bit is done....
I think I'l go with the double fluted spiral bit next time..it pulls the material out of the cut...
The CNC guys will use these....

Yesterday I ordered 2 bits from Slot Car Corner.

I have had others report that the spiral upcut bit produces a lot of tearout!???

The 2 bits that I bought from Slot Car Corner were FANTASTIC !!! Worth EVERY penny.
I only required one,but perhaps another track is in my future.
