Cherokee point

Starting to see some progress on my new road course, Dubbed, "Cherokee Point" after the rich Native American history around these parts.
The frame work design is copied from David's track at RMS, the PDR. The track mounting ribbon is made from 1/2" osb allowing me to twist the surface for camber and elevation. The plastic test track is 1959-66 Strombecker, to be removed when its time to route some wood and screw down to the OSB .Track measures 15' long,L-shaped with 9' ,55 ft running length at this time.

Thanks Dave! I will probably fill in the holes between the surface with screen wire and maybe mud it,but no scenery till I finalize the design.

Bob - I like the design! If it is only a test, do you really need to tack it down? I'd only put a few dabs of hot glue under a few pieces if you aren't t keeping it long before routing.

Thanks David! I am pretty happy with the design so far, running on it will tell! I am only tacking down the track in the corners as I have given all of them a little banking. Not sure how long it will be before it gets routed? I want to give the design a good testing before I finalize the more permanent MDF. Could be a few months,and since I am taping the plastic it does not need to be able to move much.

Cherokee, eh? I live near the Choctaw Nation... and just a stones throw north of me is the Cherokee Nation. You from Oklahoma? I'm in eastern OK.

I am in Georgia, the other end of the "Trail of Tears", I live in an area that once was one of the largest Creek indian settlements in middle GA..This area was mostly populated by Cherokee and Creek. I have a lot of family in Ok though!, Mostly in Muskogee.

Gaining some ground after a major setback, all the old track had to be pulled because my latex paint was bad and would not dry. Thankfully I still had about 75 ft left,so no biggie. Only had one lane taped,so lost one roll there as well.
Anyway,got a lot done in the landscape so I wont lose cars off the table.
