I never noticed that the infield was as big as you show in the above photo. Of course there are always lots of cars parked in the infield.

Kind of adds a higher level of charm in my opinion.

Holy Cow, what a freakin' awesome day September 21, 2014 was!

The event was the regularly scheduled race day for the Mid-Florida Slot Car Group at Thunder Shores Raceway. As normal we were received as guests in the home of Pete and Linda Ross. It felt like we were going into the home of family. Awesome people and superb guests they are.

When we arrived it looked like Linda was working with a Whole Cow - as the meatloaf she was putting together must have taken the majority of a cow. It was huge - but more on that later.

The racing started right on time and it was, as usual, some of the most intense racing I have ever participated in. It was a no holds barred affair of hot laps for 75 laps in each category. We raced 9 categories, so we raced for a total of 675 laps on Thunder Shores Raceway. We ran:

1:25 Limited Sportsman Stockers
1:25 Open NASCAR
1:25 Open Dirt Late Models
1:32 Womp Legends
1:32 Womp Pavement Modifieds
1:32 Womp Late Models
1:32 Classic NASCAR
1:25 Classic Stock Cars - Promoter's Choice

Fubarmotorsports will be posting all the photos and finishes for all this racing. But after all the racing and one fine meatloaf dinner, he might just be sleeping in a tad late today.
