Here are some shots from a newly acquired slot car that arrived today. Had time to pull off the case and put it in our studio at work with the Canon.

Hey Peter...those were shot at noon...I'd just gotten back from picking them up and had the urge to shoot. I (almost) never shoot at noon! lol

Oh Thompson. I'm lusting over that Audi. Not been tempted by an RTR car in a while.

@Ember - I've owned, wrenched on and thoroughly enjoyed driving two real Audi ur-quattros over the years, major soft spot for these so dear to my heart.

Even though I've owned a '06 MINI Cooper S R53 from new, I attribute it to a wild 8yr affair with a Chili red head, an Audi is my preferred daily driver.

This ur-quattro rallye unit will need some sorting out, as good as it looks there is an issue with one of the differentials in the drivetrain or motor. Ah working on Audis again :-)

Just browsing through a couple of my previous shots and decided I like these. The first shows a nice cross section of my pre war fleet standing toe to toe in living colour. The sky really seems to give the scene some life. It looks like a day you'd really want to race.

The second is a little voyeuristic. Perhaps the view that the young lad who slipped under the bushes to see the races might have witnessed.

I too love these two shots, the one through the bushes particularly.

I wonder if a bit of subtle filter use would help either of them. The top one has a bit of a cold clear colour to it. Almost reminds me a bit of an illustration in a picture book. DO you have access to Alien Skin's Exposure or similar. It is a set of filters that allow the easy simulation of various film types, from Ektachrome and transparencies to Polaroid. Even has filters to simulate silver nitrate prints and Daguerreotype.

I hadn't heard of Alien Skins, but it looks interesting. I'll have to look into it.

I use a few of their Photoshop Plugins. Only recently got Exposure and Bokeh. Some of their other offerings are less useful for photography type work, but I do use Eye-Candy a lot for design work.

Same shot as above with photo aging. The sky remains a dominant feature. Mid day sun with thick intermittent cumulus clouds reducing glare. The outbuildings in the background were built in the early thirties.
