I should be painting the road surface of the big track next weekend though I think it may be 2 weeks away - working on some hills along the back straight and the painted backdrop at the moment which requires me to climb over the layout.
I am thinking about maybe an abandoned airfield theme for this little track. Paint a runway down the middle maybe a taxi way and a little service road, any where else will be dirt and weeds. Might put a shack or two in as well.

Hi DM,
that is looking good. I need to do something on this scale to get to grips with routing.

Good fun project Mark, I wouldn't recommend crossing over the track, for the first time you make one - bit of a pain to solder all the jumper wires
cheers

Great! I love it!
Just a bit of AC2 wiring now, and you can have two cars following each other around :D

Nice little rally track what is the dimension?
I just might give a small wood track a go, looks like yours is a fun track to run.

thanks DM didn't understand the 1200 x 900 I think I'll make one around june and see what I can do never used a router I'll contact those nutty guys at slot car corner and see what they recommend as for a bit and see how much their braid is, or copper tape if they have any.

fixed it up in the original post now - forgot that you guys aren't metric.
I am thinking if I make another track if I didn't go for an abandoned airport then I would use a car park theme. I would set out the carpark first - maybe put things like trolley return bays, a loading point maybe a rubbish area and then draw the track around these - using them as obstacles for lots of little loops.
cheers

Neat!
Question - Are you routing that free head or using a nailing guide strip, or some other type of guide?
Looks like fun!
