Thanks, the one thing I did different on this track is the white plastic walls in the corners are attached to the solid red walls in only three paces so there is some give when the cars deslot and hit the white walls. Saves a lot of damage to the cars.

Rarely do I have the slot car guys over. I mainly use it to tune my own cars.

I'm 30 minutes from Detroit in Livonia Mich. Professor Motor's is also located in Livonia. If you're not familiar with the Professor he has 4 1/32 tracks at his store plus an incredible selection of 1/32 stuff.

Or I would have guessed extreme western Virginia?

Really good job. How did you set up the alignment for the sections? I have seen some that were really clever, and I'm curious about yours, which look nearly seamless.

Andy does have a nice place. To set up the alignment I just routered the first section attached the next section and worked off the first one. To attached the sections I used a 4'x4" board under the two sections and shimmied the sections with thick paper to get them even.

I didn't name the track after the famous raceway I actually live on Bristol street.

5/8" solid black plastic? That sounds like it would make for a nice stable track!

Three of the sections I used 5/8" solid black plastic (this material is normally used for outdoor signs) the material cut and routered the same as MDF and the advantage is it doesn't have to be painted but the big disadvantage is the cost of a 4x8' sheet is $125. MDF is about $20.
