I like the long straights, its just fun to get em all wound out then head deep into a corner with the tail sliding out. That can be done on shorter tracks, but if you have the room,go for it!!
Lanes? how many people race with you? I would not go less than three, but six is often times way to many,so four seems good to me.
lights are lionell train yard lights,12 volt using seperat wal type power unit,as are my neon signs
Scenery!!! sets the mood for me and the other racers. A little vintage music playing. dubbed track announcer messages, and you go back in time for a little while!. Some folks don't like scenery,I would not be without it.

I can only tell you that I had always had road courses, just built another, but I have a lot of fun on the oval just running against my best time, then pick another lane and learn all over again!. its really a personal choice, but if I had to pick one or the other my Oval would stay. The car choices are endless, and classes are as varied as sports cars.the midgets are a blast to drive, and the roadsters are like f1's or indy cars as they are open wheel, you tangle them up on a fast sweeping corner and you have a lot of laughing going on!

Thank Bob! Just what I needed more fuel on the fire. Looks great. Like the quonset hut.

Oh yeah...thanks for reposting this. Takes me back to my old Artin 4 laner.

Turn marshalls were STRICT! Had to behave in those corners.
You have created a great track that simply has that home racing spirit.

double thumbs up on your track!!!
The ultimate compliment is when I can look at a picture several times and find something new each time, your track does that in spades!!
I need the scenery too, to help set the tone, since most of my time is running solo and need that realism to keep my interest up.

Sir, that is outstanding. I noticed your sprint bandit. Is that static scenery or has it been slotcarized?
