Guys, Just wanted to remind everyone, That when shipping out your cars for the various runs we have, that no matter how well something is packaged, bad things can happen. Harry's beautiful 40 Sedan was totaled en route. The box came with the P-BOP proxy cars in it, and was packed as well as anyone could pack them. I would have trusted a raw egg in the box Dave sent. But apparently the PO needed a step stool to get to the top shelf, and our box drew the straw to be it. There are no Guarantees on any shipping, so be smart and get the insurance to help cover any damage that may occur. I hope Harry does not mind me posting this picture, but it is worth a thousand words. Daves car can be fixed with a little Glue and will continue the race, Harry's car will be sent back for a rebuild.

Part of the reason I ALWAYS get insurance for not only my individual shipment - but also the "big box" shipments.
DEFINITELY a bummer that that fine looking machine fell victim to the freight handlers... :(

Just a flesh wound. Scratch really. It might buff out :)
Stuff happens. Wish it was in combat, but no big deal. Curly has been grumpy lately, chewing on my good tires and such. Seeing fresh sheet metal dropped off in the yard will make his day.
Carry on boys! :)

Man does that suck. A great looking car it is for sure. I'd glue it back together, make it look like someone welded it and race the thing.

Now I see what we were talking about in the other thread. If the car runs ok, just keep running it. We don't need to stand on ceremony just because it has a broken roof.
I always consider that any car I send off to a proxy or fun run is a consumable. By that I mean I may never see it again. Even if it makes the whole series, it may return in pieces. My Nascar proxy car is missing its spoiler and my Sportsman came back with the spoiler off (I glued it right back on, so no harm).
I have never insured a car that I have sent off, and so far have got them all back. It was not my intent to insure the P-BOP cars when I return them after the proxy. Simple postage is about $10 from here to the US, insured is close to $30. I didn't make the entry fee high enough to cover the extra cost of insurance. When shipping the whole lot, maybe it is a good thing.
