Once again I am thrashing to get my fall/winter 2015/16 builds done, as with any luck, mother nature will soon allow me to be on the links :dance:

This chassis has been built for the GVSCC Targa 2 proxy, and will be going under a Fly Chevron B21 body..........while early tests have been quite good, the Chevrons' body dimensions are less favorable than my last years' 908/3 (the chevron requires a much narrower front track, and also a shorter rear axle/guide post length), so, I do not think it offers quite the potential of the Porsche, particularly on the longer/faster tracks in the series.

The chassis has been modified a bit from its initial design,...I was hoping to get away with a more torsionally soft chassis, but, testing revealed that this was not to be, so, it needed to be stiffened a touch.

That is a CLEAN looking chassis!
I like the use of square tubing for the rear axle to allow for a nice broad flat for the frame rail tie in - will have to see about picking up some similar tubing tonight at the track to try the same thing!

Slot car art and well engineered, I'm sure. Though you have some doubt, I wouldn't bet on that being slower than last year's 908/3.

That chassis looks great, Chris. I really never learned how to do all that fancy stuff with the rattle pans and piano wire. I study pics like yours and Dennis's, but still go back to my all brass designs. Some day I will try to copy one of your chassis exactly and see if I am capable of it.

I'm glad your car will be in class B and mine in class A. Hehe!

Looking forward to seeing it up close and personal.

Too bad you didn't live in Vancouver, the golf courses have been open all winter. Well maybe for the sake of your slot car hobby it is good you live in TO, eh?

Whew! :D I'm feeling much less intimidated now that I know that Chris will build nothing faster than the 1st place car. :scared-eek:

I have never been a big fan of the Gunston livery from the fist time I saw it in Autosport magazine in 1967........not that I have anything against John Love, Cigarettes, South Africa, or South African slot racers ;) , its just that I really never found the color scheme appealing!

Having had the bodyshell sitting on my bench for a month or so now, I am changing my mind......it is unique, and, at least on the Chevron it looks quite attractive......If it goes well I will like it even more!!

I still need to detail and install the interior and a few detail bits, but, it is essentially done.

I know it is still early days, but, has anyone else made any progress??
