Is that the signboard on SN208 above? It looks like a folded piece of posterboard for the show display.

Is it one sided like the one in Harry's picture looks like?

Also, these things are going to be rolling over all over the track. Maybe we should make them out of sheet styrene and glue them down?

Makes me wonder why this series is not being modeled by Scalextric. After seeing the "effort" made with the recent Charger, they could easily decorate these little boogers up.

Styrene sounds good.

Had a box come in from Sunny Cali too. Think I will try and use some stock wheels as there is no source for anything smaller. Footscoot says the Sloting plus 14.5's look pretty good on these cars, so might try those.

Yep, all of those are two sided all right. I wondered why it looked like it only read from one side, but I kept remembering how NASCAR roof and trunk numbers faced one way, and the two in the picture really look like its meant to be read only from the left side of the car.

I noticed in that video that there is less and less of the car retained after a few runs. Little bits and pieces gone, window openings cut way deep like a jalopy racer, lots of venting holes, of course. This going to be fun the same way the jalopies were. Dr. Dremel is ready for surgery.

I have been thinking about trying to cut my own wheels for this one and using the stock wheels for inserts. Of course, that means coming up with tires, too. I wonder if there is a size of 1/43 tire that will work?

Blimey, this is growing and looking great!

I don't know how soon you plan to start, but you might like to consider using 1275GT/Clubman bodies as well. The Clubman had the same body as the 1275GT, but it would be eligible for the lower Classes, as it had only a 998cc. engine.

I guess modified Scalextric Minis would probably be eligible too, would they?

David.

That makes it easier. I'll try to cut wheels to fit the tire! Might be weird looking, I have never cut matching original wheels before, only copied wheels I already had.

No doubt. All anyone has to do is look at the old Scaley/SCX Mini chassis to know that for certain.

Did anyone look into 1/43 aluminum wheels yet?

Ah, I didn't realize those were 1/43rd. I'll be looking forward to seeing those. I've just about decided to build two for this thing, and I thought I might buy a set and cut a set of my own.

edit- I am committed now. I just ordered the aluminum rod stock. Eek.

Thanks Dave, this should be fun. I think the the Ranch Design wheels will be perfect for this series as these cars are pretty small and the average 15" in 1/32 will be way out of scale for these cars. Should be fun to see what everyone comes up with.

The Scaley/SCX wheel scales to around 13.5 inches. Is that roughly correct? Kurt's away, so any of you other Mini drivers got any input? I thought I remembered that they used a 12 inch wheel, but that was a long time ago.
