Ratatouille was the first foreign dish I ever cooked, well, not counting French Toast...
But what does VNFR stand for? What did I miss? I have no idea which way is up these days.

I read all the way through it. Some is familiar, but things have been a little nuts around here lately.
I think I can scratch up something... but I think I used up all my MT/5's.

Slot Car Corner order in for some dum-dums and parts! (15x8 steelies, M/T-5, etc)
Planning on going with a Fairlane body with fantasy livery for mine and can hardly wait to get started on it! :D

I can't host until I fix the track. Its very nearly a rebuild. The moisture that got to it when it was stored by the previous owner swelled the MDF which narrowed the slot a lot. Also the paint I used has less traction every day, and worst of all, the tape I used was 12 or 14 years old and is coming up all over. The small area of one lane where I used fresher tape is stuck so well, I will have to scrape it up. So, I'm taking the whole thing down, re-setting it, re-routing it to get the slot the proper size, and painting it with the blacktop formula I used on the old track, and finally, retaping with brand new tape.
I am still tentatively on the schedule to host the IROC in October, but I don't know if I'll make it. It takes much longer to restore than to just build a track. But this was our best track, and we all had years of good fun with it, and I want to do it right. Set up the way it is, it was a blast until the paint and tape problems started.

I've been thinking about this one a lot. And, now that Harry has generously decided to provide me a motor, I'm think a lot more. I think I'll do a side-or-angle winder with a brass&fiberglass pan that gives me lots of room for getting the balance just right. I think I'll do an independent front wheel arrangement, too, and a resin body for light weight. I'll make it extra tough, too, now that Jeremy has thrown his hat in for the race. Just like him to throw in a diving helmet...
You know, he secretly wants to be the Nerf King, to rank equal with Jenny, the Nerf Queen. What he doesn't know is that she is holding a new rank in reserve... Nerf Empress, the Ultimate Nerfer!

Well hopefully I'll be able to post some pics tomorrow....right now the second coat of Future is drying. This is a real mongrel as I had no money to spend on it at all (I did buy PG tires and a set of Carrera wheels), I also don't have the facilities to solder a brass chassis  Hobby Slot chassis, MT 5 motor, Carrera wheels, Artin front axle, Fly rear axle and guide out of the parts box, as was the hacked up 63 Galaxie body. I made the decals, but even those are left overs from other projects. Interior tray is a piece of scrap plexiglass. I'm going to bed now!
