One of my favorite F1 cars and drivers! I'll wait for Harry's review before I commit though.

Typical SRC cars, with the added complexity of a classic F1 car. The result: FANTASTIC detailed reproduction and weak mechanical components.
The 4 gears that make up the whole transmission do not really fit with precision. The middle part pops out too easily and must be glued in. The rear tires have very little traction on a smooth track surface and the rear wheels are made of pretty soft plastic, which makes any manipulation to the rear wheels (like changing tires) a risky business if you don't want to make the center hole larger and the wheels non-concentric. Motor is OK and runs well. Front wing is very fragile and the rear one is also but thanks to its position on the car, it's not that easy to break.
I think the chassis is too soft and would need reinforcement at the rear.
All in all, a great looking car but far from the best on the mechanical side.

I picked up the Villenueve Ferrari 312 (early release) used from across the pond, knowing it's ailments. I opened it up and found that the rear axle is not perpendicular to the chassis. That cannot help with performance (I run non-mag exclusively) and there's no fix for that. The lads across the pond however are already coming up with a composite chassis replacement for both the Ferrari and Renault. Until then, the Ferrari will have the ignominious honor of being my one and only shelf queen.
