This arrived today from the homeoffice in Sandwich, England (home of Hornby BTW). I will be showing this set (there's a full set under the cars here too) and these samples of the cars at the Hobbytown show in a few weeks in Nebraska. On my way home I'll be stopping in Dixon to see Harry... so be ready for a full-frontal bunch of pix from him soon I think of these cars.

Just a reminder, the red and green cars are solo cars.
The black and blue/yellow cars are set only cars.
Yes they are inline.
Yes they have glass and interiors.
They are 1/32.
They are analog.
I don’t know the exact arrival date but YES this year.
The set and cars are due about the same time.
Yes there is a DPR door underneath.
No, we don't have the NASCAR license (see your decal source or your local buddy with an ALPS printer), but I am working on something creative on that front... more to come on that next year I hope.

Finally a fresh AMERICAN RACER. The Euro road racer has been done over and over. High time we have a offering for the oval/USA racers.

Looking good! I'm excited to see these......won't be long now! Those fantasy liveries will do just fine.

Now, having said that. Scaley could paint the cars just like that, without the liveries and throw in a set of sticker decals to DIY. Or, all we would have to do is buy the actual decals and place those and no fuss with paint :banana-dance: Just a thought........

For those of us that won't be buying the set, will there be more solo cars coming?

And we can take the solo car bodies and dip them in 90% alcohol and strip the paint off and paint them whatever colors we want :text-woo: :text-woo: :auto-driving: :auto-driving:

The idea is on the table but here's the thing. Please don't wait and hope that we might do it. I have been doing this so long and I've seen this too many times where guys say right before a car comes out, "yeah but do this one"... if you don't support (by buying) the other releases, especially the initial releases that *hope that one day...* will never come. And I'm not saying specifically as a reply to your comment Rooster but I've done so many important launches of cars over the years for different companies and it feels like guys often get caught up in "waiting in hopes for the next one that might be exactly what they want". I get it if you just don't like a livery on a car, but especially when it's a new release for a company and a US-specific release (as this is on both accounts) it's crucial that guys here get this car(s).
They will be coming at the same lower price you've seen from us this year. We have gotten special permission to lower our US prices for cars to be more competitive.
To that end I'll be working on contacting clubs here in the US and supporting them with (yet to be made) new Scalextric swag (like maybe t-shirts and banners and stickers, etc) with the intent that clubs race these cars. Further, I'll be asking the design guys at Scalextric if they can maybe put a design for a chassis on Shapeways so if you want to you can more easily mod this car.
And... the guys at Quickslicks have already measured these wheels and hopefully will have Silicone tires for these cars on release (again... sometime around end of Sept-Oct).
We need these cars to succeed. We are planning to have them in the line for years, so will you see more colors of them... hell, yes... as many as I can do each year I will do... period.
So will there be more, of course there will.
