Wow! Like you- surprised to see this. The Scaleauto track is supposed to be Carreera compatible, so this will be a third entrant in the Carrera compatible track market. Can't believe the market is that big!

Looks very expensive with how intricate it is. The "wood" section alone cannot be cheap with all the routing, and or machining done to it. If plastic track is for beer drinkers this is for single malt scotch connoisseurs.

Being the devil's advocate (my full time job), this ALMOST leaves me speechless. I see conductivity is as good as it gets, but where does this come off as better than Carrera? I figure it has to cost 4 times as much as Carrera per foot. Why not just make routed wood sections with braid and paint? What am I missing.

I am curious if the other new track will be a successful product. We will see.

Wow.....looks great. But no way would I invest money in that. If I want wood, I'm routing a track. I didn't even look for a price and frankly, I don't want to know how much it would cost. Just sayin' :roll:

I tried locating info on the Scaleauto track but did not find much. Any chance it is available now? I am curious as to what they make and pricing.

Impressive looking bit of kit. I guess if there is a market for $5000 watches then there is also a market for high end slot car tracks.

I hope they will using kiln-dried wood and then cover the main track sections in a totally impenetratable coating to prevent warping in storage.

Website states that the wood is MDF. So warping will not be a problem.

This actually looks like a Rube Goldberg slot car track. I can't see that it is much different than any sectional track, just more complicated.
You are still relegated to using pre-determined sizes of track. I think I'd rather spend my money on Carrera or good used track.

What has become of the other new track that has been talked of since last year? I think they were preparing to offer sets, but haven't heard any more about it. Anybody heard anything new?

Looks super nice and it would fit right into the Nieman Marcus Christmas or perhaps the Hammacher Schlemmer catalogs, but I gather this is geared to the organized Euro racing club crowd as a replacement/competitor for Ninco or the new Scale Auto track.

Way above my meager means, so I'll stick with the old Artin track with full borders I have acquired and use my offset slot guide chassis design that offers 4"+ spacing to run 1/24-1/28 hard body conversions for family and friends racing at home.
