I think this just speaks to the lack of interest in the younger generation over any kind of “racing set”, slot or slotless. I agree the whole phone as an interface to drive the cars was a none starter for me.
Not too worried about the hobby for us. But I suspect as the generations move forward, slot cars will be viewed like lead soldiers. It was a pasttime for our generation.

I told anyone that would listen at the time... their product line was an inch deep and a mile wide. At the time, they impressed everyone who didn't get road racing as a category or a play pattern. Yes the concept was cool and there were great features but the actual play... the actual car on the track was really crap. The feel of the performance of the car wasn't very solid. the cars would easily bounce as they were around the track so they gave the feeling they were about to come off at any time. I tested one of these sets pretty extensively while I was at my previous company...
They hadn't had anything new for years so i'm not at all surprised they folded.

I still have one. Don't worry, it's harmless.

I think Dan summarized it pretty well.

For one of us that don't live by/with their phones - that was a turn off to me.
It is unfortunate that they weren't able to make a go of it through further development / refinement.
Appreciate the heads up.
