Had this Strombecker Lotus in the parts bin awhile. Body's beat but I appreciate the wear and patina.



Must be at least forty years old by my calculation.

Will fabricate one of my little car chassis to get this vintage body rolling.

Strombecker actually made some really nice bodies and the lotus 30 is one of their best. They lend themselves very well to putting a Sebring chassis or a brass chassis with a slimline motor. I have several and really enjoy them.

Got the basic chassis done incorporating the Devised Designs super slimline motor pod.



Should have it running tomorrow.

Body's mounted.







Stance is good. Wheel/tire choice worked out with BRM Nascar/Avant Slot Mirage at the front and Slot It F1/Paul Gage 22166 out back. Probably going with Halibrand inserts

Motor/gears and brass side pans are next to get it running.

Went with Minilite inserts and paint detailed the driver figure and mold details.





Weighs 94g for a planted feel.

Good outcome. Will be a good companion to my vintage Cox Cheetah build.
