padirtfan - to bad I missed that. In the early '70's I was just starting to go to Orange County Fair Speedway on a weekly basis and then branched out to the NJ and PA tracks. What a fast and odd track Flemington was, like a square with rounded corners. I was there at the last dirt race and should still have the souvenir bottle of authentic track clay they gave away.
Back then I only went to oval races and totally missed out on Trans Am, and I could have gone to races at Lime Rock and other east coast tracks. I wish the Nationwide series would really feature muscle cars, not just the cookie cutter COT body style with fake grilles that try to make some of them look like Mustangs and Camaros.
But, I do get to relive the series on my track. Tonight I'll be tuning Peter Revson's Javelin to make it competitive with George Follmer's Mustang. :banana-dance:
