OK, I put a set of PG tires on the back, adjusted the gear mesh with a spacer, trimmed the braids and adjusted the front axle height. The front is set up with two grub screws above and below the axle which is something I didn't expect. It ran smoothly but the motor is rather anemic, probably rated at or below 18k rpm and it has little braking ability. So, as well as getting a set of slot.it hubs I will probably be getting a better motor too.

This chassis reminds me of earlier Avant Slot chassis and I am wondering if there is a relationship. Like when Power slots went under did the owners reform a new company called Avant Slot?

Bob, You must have gotten a bum motor. I have two of them with the wheels replaced with Slot.it parts and they both smoke. These are fast cars! And they handle! I still haven't figured out what all of the adjustment screws are for. Don't need 'em. I think bad wheels took Power Slot down. They built high class cars but went cheap on the wheels. That ruined their reputation. Who wants to pay $60 bucks + for a car only find that its tires bounce like a Monogram. I paid top dollar for the first and then bought the second one for about $30 bucks. I have both liveries.

After letting the motor run on the test stand for about 20 min @ 8v it seems to be much more lively and the brakes are better. I went to the Power slot web site that is still up and discovered that the motor can be moved forward or back to adjust the gear mesh. With that in mind the screws make sense.

I have two of the blue Repsol versions. One`s a bit pokey and the other is a flyer. I`ll try running in the slow one`s motor as Bob has done to help improve.

Inspired as well by this salvaged Lola 1958 - 2008 Celebrating 50 Golden Years in Motorsport poster that was in my friend`s auto upholstery shop closed down a couple of years ago.

I've had one of these cars for years. It doesn't get much track time, but it's a wonderful car. I have a soft spot for the underdog, especially an overachieving underdog, and this car fits the bill. It definitely has its rough edges, but it's a plucky little runner, and looks great. It's the slot car version of the cute prom queen with a big nose, half a left foot, and a laugh like a hyena. Personality all day. :)

With a bit of tuning, they make good competition for Fly Classics. I have the blue Repsol version and with new wheels and Slot.it gear, it's a great runner!

Now I've got to work on that pretty little SRC Alfa!

Hi Guys
Here's what I did to mine recently. basically our classic sports car class requires Slot It 21500 and NSR 20K FC-130 motors.So I grafted a slot it pod into the original powerslot chassis.
