I'm building out a car that uses one of the new Slot.It Shapeways chassies (Carrera Audi A5 DTM) and it comes with a guide system that requires the use of a Slot.It LMP guide. I've used the older version of the LMP guide before; the one that requires holes in the braid. I'm now using the new CH-88 guide, which I think Slot.It designed in order to allow people to use whatever braid they wanted.
So far, I'm not a big fan of the CH-88 guide. It uses 3mm M2 grub screws to hold the motor wires down on the braid (actually, it's designed to crush the wire against the braid). It's hard to see what's actually going on with this guide when you screw in the grub screws and that leads me to wonder whether or not I have a good connection between the motor wires and the braid.
Does anyone else have any experience with this CH-88 guide? If you do, then what did you do to be sure that you have a good, strong connection between the wires and the braid?
