TGIF - Thawing out

At least things are staring to warm up around our neck of the woods. This has me doing the normal Spring cleaning around the old Skunkworks. I have to say that keeping up with it over the Winter is paying off. All I need is a little paint here and there and things will be finished.

Not many new reviews this week, but appreciate those who have chimed in with their own reports. That is what old HRW is for, to share information that helps your fellow slotter.

We have some decent weather forecast for the weekend as well. I will be running the first leg and start of the Infamous Fantasy Pan Am race Saturday! That should be a real hoot with all the very cool cars to play with. Will take most of the day i suspect, to run them and get all the info down as well. I dont know how much tech support i will have, but i might be able to video some of it. Either way it should be great fun!

Work today, shop for a new bed tomorrow (getting old sucks!) and some racing with the gang tomorrow night.

I also picked up two of the Miller Engineering signs. I'll figure out how to place these so no one can whack them - they are seriously cool!

Corvair is finally picking up steam again.

We are in party town here at Razor Raceway, Saturday we are having a few old school mates come by, a few of them moved away after high school and are in town for a visit, 1 guy has been slot racing in Florida for years and has just moved back into the area so I just might have a new slot buddy.

then next week is Razor Raceway open house

on the tool side I just got my new tool holder for my lathe and plan on playing with it Sunday, will post pictures for you tool guys

It's been nothing but rain today. Doesn't make for a cheery day, but I made the best of it. Not much going on slot car wise. I need to scrape and repaint the garage this spring, it sure could use a new coat of paint. :)

Really nice day today and no job to report to , so it was time to finish building something .Just finished building the NY Modified no.B52...thanks to Kevin aka Cheater for sharing ( and doing most of the work ) his speed secrets with this Rookie...runs great..the other car is his and are a blast to race.

Yeah... finally the roads are clear, although there are lots of big standing water puddles, and dirty snow banks piled up on the sides!
Drove my packed SUV up to New England from Long Island (via Orient Pt.- New London ferry) yesterday. Staying in RI at my good friend's house for three nights, because tomorrow is the big MassCar 27th annual model car show at the Taunton, MA Holiday Inn. It's a huge event with judged contest and vendor swap meet areas. I'll be set up as usual with my "ERNIE'S MODEL AUTO PARTS" vendor booth, and I always find model car kits and other cool stuff for slot car applications!
Let's hope this Winter thing is about done with us. Wish me luck! Enjoy -- Ernie

We have been getting some temps about 36 to 40 the last few days, so if it keeps up I might be able to get to the garage to the big track this week.
Today rain and snow, and two 1:1 cars to service. If all goes well , I cna get some dungeon time
later today.
And of course I will keep checking in on the Great Pan Americana .
