TGIF - Back to normal?

Postby HomeRacingWorld » Fri Apr 17, 2015 7:17 am

It has been a busy and fun week around here. Shotgun stayed a couple extra days to help me put the Skunkworks back together after the Shoot-Out and we had a lot of fun building new cars. It was one of the best events we have had thanks to all who showed. Seeing new faces finally meeting each other is always fun and I hope all of you decide to visit us again.

Saddened by the passing of Mr. Stadlbauer. We also have members on HRW who have lost those closest to them and we send our sincere condolences. It has been a trying time for many.

But we will do our best to help distract you. After all, that is what a good hobby is capable of :)

Working on some small tuning articles just to share how we do it around here and hopefully it helps a few of you.

More parts incoming here so I can continue my latest modified and work on a couple classics for the MIDMO.

Hope all of you have a great weekend and you get the chance to enjoy your hobby with others.

I have Tsgtret coming by Sunday, he will get a chance to run the Pan Am cars before they ship out to Tennessee.
Might even talk him into a few laps on the big Oval! Might make a convert out of him, or at least open another door to the fun of slot racing. There are some heavy hitters on the Crossroads right now. The VNFR Cars are still here, and a few of the early Mod wars cars, so that ought to wet anyone's appetite for some door to door racing.
I always hate to hear of the passing of loved ones, and friends. At the age most of us are, it becomes all to frequent.
Never enough words to express the emotions at times like that.

Normal??? What is normal? I don't know of anyone here who is normal...

Looks like tomorrow I'll be going back to Audi1's place and working on his track more. Hopefully we can get the routing done so he can start the painting process next week. Then hopefully next time I go down we can lay down some braid :banana-dance:

Sunday looks like yard work day. Spring finally sprung here about a week ago, and we can finally start picking up all the branches and stuff that old man winter had a ball with over the winter :angry-tappingfoot:

It's been far from normal around here for a few weeks. It's not bad. Just different. Not much slot car time though.

After a lot of obstacles that defy description short enough to post, I just finished the taping of one lane at long last on the third generation of my track. The last 12 feet or so have been blank for 6 months.

I put a Carrera NASCAR on it and nearly wore out a 9 volt battery just playing. Now I have a system, the other 3 lanes shouldn't take over a year to do unless there's more bad times coming. It was pretty rough for quite a while.
