Yeah, aren't Scaley wall wart transformers rated at 16v output?

All the dirt modified replicas I built around 2007 for my new wood oval had electric toothbrush motors in them. I got the idea from the AC2car site and found a salvage store selling them for $1. A handful of cars still have long can toothbrush motors in them and despite being twitchy are as fast as cars with MT-5 and other slot car motors I now by online.

You just have to be real light on the trigger coming out of the turns.

That is because the tooth brush motors are rated for 3 volts. Other than the twitchiness they work okay, and you can't beat the 1$ price.

They are not putting that much volts at the rails. Scalextrix converts AC to DC at the rails and is unregulated.

Meanwhile, keep us posted on your gear changing.

I did not want to mention this, but feel I must.

This is a slippery slope. I fell down it myself and today I take each car one at a time for a full rebuild. It's because I have become very picky. The end result of seeing the car run smooth and quiet on my wood track is my goal. I know gutting the models like a fish (Insect?) is NOT easy on my budget. But I know the end result is worth it for my taste.
